AUSTRALIA IV (24.04-08.05.2012)
Wheel change quickly made
We spent the last few week in
Australia at the Cape le Grand nationalpark closed to Esperance.
The weather was pretty good. We
enjoyed some trekking and swimming in the turqoise glas-clear water.
The sand crackled under our
feeds like the snow at home.

We spent our last days in
Australia around Fremantle and Perth. After our Busli was shipped, we
stayed at Rosi and Andreas home.

Our last stopover is at Bali.
We will stay there around one week and enjoy the delicious food, snorkeling,
diving, kiting and shopping.
AUSTRALIA III (21.03-23.04.2012)
One of the 10 most spectacular dive sites in the world is in Exmouth at the U.S. Navypier, a relic of the cold war. Spectacular is this place not because it is very colorful or beautiful, but because of the diversity of species (170 different fish) and the amount of fish....
After Exmouth we moved further to the north, to Karratha (mine Mecca), and to the less touristic Millstream Chichester National Park.
Over the gravel roads we visited the park and refreshed us in the freshwater pools.
Not really surprising that our Busli break down. On the day of departure to the next National Park, the full speed was 30km / h = 0 performance!
So we had to repair our Busli in the middle of the Outback (140km away from the nearest town). The first time on our trip that we have had a really big problem with our bus.... We had to replace the defect cylinder head gasket and the damaged syncro belt. But our busli thanked us and runs on at the first time we tried after the reparation .... Since then we drived some thousand kilometers .... and he runs and runs and runs.

Although we have had all the spare parts and could repair the bus by ourself, we missed the most important thing ! The "twelve point triple square bit!" for the cylinder head bolts. Without this tool (of course, a special tool for German cars), there is no repair possible.
With luck, incredibly helpful person (thanks Andrew, Rosi and Vincent), which maked a detour of 100 kilometers and put us to the right place at the right time where Tony a cran mechanic (for German crans) borrowed us this special tool.

Replace cylinder head gasket, syncro belt and bolts and it works....
...and it goes further.
We have also had the pleasure to drive a 4x4 Hilux, which we hired for the emergency to tow our busli to the next city.
The extended stay for the busreparation has also had its good side, we were visited regularly and we get some new friends.

With the repaired Busli we went further into the Karijini National Park. Which is simply fantastic. Canyons filled with water to pass or swimm through and rock pools which are ideal for swimming.

Because we liked the Cape Range National Park so much, we made ,on our way back, a few days stop again....

From Exmouth we drove to Geraldton. Where we meet Sandra and Thomas , who invited us to a cozy Swiss evening at theyr home.
Next to Perth via Perth Hills. At the next day we make a visit to Rosi and Andreas (roadside assistance) they invited us to a cozy evening with delicious pizza and beer.
Our travel time goes slowly but surely to the end.
Now we will see what we do in the rest of our travelling time.

AUSTRALIA II (08.03-21.03.2012)
The last week we spent away from civilization in the Cape Range National Park, which is one of the most beautiful marine national parks. There we spent our time at....

After a week we had to do the 60km drive back to Exmouth to do a big purchase of food and water.

AUSTRALIA I (06.02-08.03.2012)
YUUPPII, We did it, firstly, we drive on australias roads and secondly we are blogging again. The launch in Australia was a little bumpy because customs hold our Busli for 2 weeks under lock and let us wait ..... Fortunately we passed the quarantine inspection, at the first time and also the vehicle test presented no problem so we didn’t lost more time.
What we’ve seen and explored in Australia so far, show our photos better than a lot of text:

We meet the Swiss immigrant family Tobler at the beach while kiting. They invited us to camp on their small farm. Because we liked it so much we stayed for a second night.

AntwortenLöschenDo you remember us? The other kiters at Sandy Bay... Finally we have internet at home, so it took us a while to have a look at your blog. Wow, this is so great to read and see. Love it, hopefully lots of stories and pics will follow.
So you also went to Karijini NP? Great isn't it? We have had such a great time there! Unfortunately we are at home now :( Our life has changed: no more sunshine, warmth, kiting and travelling, but cold, Dutch rain and working days. Big difference... So enjoy all the time you have.
If you feel like kiting in Holland this summer (or just a visit), please let us know. That would be great. Or... are you still travelling by that time.
